Government of Ekiti State had appreciated the management of Federal Teaching Hospital, Ido-Ekiti (FETHI) for the level of responsiveness given some staff of Government Special School for the Deaf at Ikoro-Ekiti in Ijero Local Government Area of the state who had an auto crash on Saturday.

The State Governor, Dr Kayode Fayemi, who was represented by the State Commissioner for Health, Dr (Mrs) Moji Yahaya Kolade, described the incidence as unfortunate and wished those on hospital beds speedy recovery.

The Commissioner, who led the state representatives to the facility on Monday, extolled the leadership of the hospital for having in place a responsive and experienced accident and emergency team.

She said they have come to examine the status of the victims and offset their hospital bills as directed by the state government.

“It is very disheartening to know that the accident claimed some lives; but we thank God that some are currently receiving qualitative medical care in this hospital and this is commendable,” Dr Yahaya Kolade said.

The visitors, who were led round the hospital facilities by the Chief Medical Director, Prof. Adekunle Ajayi, expressed their satisfaction and competence in the recent improvements sighted in the hospital.

ā€œIā€™m very happy Prof. Adekunle Ajayi is one of us in Ekiti. He has done well in this hospital and I’m impressed. The truth about it is when you have dedicated and God fearing people who are interested in the progress of a place, they do everything to make things work and that is what I have seen here. He is a God fearing man,” the commissioner lauded.

She sincerely appreciated the medical team and the management of the hospital for giving their best to treating these patients.

The Principal of Government Special School for the Deaf, Mr. Akinwunmi acknowledged that the Government of Ekiti State is tremendously making efforts to cater for the less privileged and prayed God to sustain the present administration in the State.

In the entourage of the commissioner were team from Ekiti State Ministry of Education and the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Health, Dr Foluke Olomojobi.
