FETHI, FCC aims to promote national unity as new Commissioner visits CMD

The new state commissioner of the Federal Character Commission, representing Ekiti State, Honorable Chief Sesan Fatoba on Wednesday, 5th of August 2020, made a courtesy visit to the CMD, FETHI with the aim of familiarising himself officially and further initiate the long existing relationship between the hospital and the commission.

Chief Sesan Fatoba and his team which include Mrs. Olufunke Olajubu, State Coordinator, Mr. Rafael, Department of Media, Abuja, Hon.Segun Idowu and Hon. Kayode Adekogbon, Commissioner aides, Mr. Ben Omoleye, Public Relation Officer, and Mr. Solomon Olarewaju, Data Analysts were welcomed by the Chief Medical Director, Prof. Adekunle Ajayi who gave a brief summary of the hospital as he pointed out the laudable achievements of the hospital since its inception.

Prof. Adekunle Ajayi, in his remarks mentioned that FETHI’s mandate has remain to foster comprehensive and affordable health care services to the people of Ekiti State and its environs.

Also, FETHI offers wide range of clinical services in the fields of Internal Medicine, Community Medicine, Ear, Nose and Throat,(E.N.T) Ophthalmology, Paediatrics,Dental, Obstetrics and Gynecology, among others. Be that as it may, basic medical students from some tertiary institutions across the country are being trained.

Elaborating the essence of the visit, the new state commissioner immensely thanked the hospital management for receiving him and the team in a warmth and dignified manner. FCC has been put in place by the Government as a result of the need to ensure the unity of this country, Nigeria.

Similarly, the major ways in discharging the mandate of FCC is through fairness, equitable distribution of amenities, infrastructure, employment, promotion e.t.c

Commissioner Sesan equally prayed for a much more robust and impactful relationship between the hospital and FCC. He added that FCC will be readily available to give their support to the institution in any area of concern and hopes this act will be reciprocated.

While giving the vote of thanks, the CMAC of the hospital, Dr. Idowu Adebara, appreciated the team for coming and wished the new state commissioner a blissful tenure.

The visit had in attendance some members of the hospital’s management team which includes: the CMAC, Dr. Idowu Adebara, DDA, High Chief B.O Ogunrinde, Mrs Adewara, Head of Audit , Mr Francis Bank-akinuoye, Head of information/Corporate Affairs and Mrs Olubunmi Adeniji ,Principal of School of Nursing.
