It has been evident that the series of human and infrastructural developments brought to being at the Federal Teaching Hospital, Ido-Ekiti (FETHI), by the Chief Medical Director, Prof. Adekunle Ajayi, were not only noted but recognised by outside world; as Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), Ado-Ekiti awarded the trailblazer for Excellence in Medical Practice and Community Development.

The CMD, who was given the award along other selected dignitaries on Tuesday in Ado-Ekiti, the state capital, during the 17th Anniversary of NTA in the state, was described by the largest television network in Nigeria as a personality who has demonstrated dynamism and creativity to change the story of healthcare in Ekiti and FETHI in particular.

Prof. Ajayi, who hailed from Igogo-Ekiti in Moba Local Government Area of the State, was presented with the award by his own Royal Father, His Royal Majesty, Oba (Barr) Sunday Adewumi, the Onigogo of Igogo-Ekiti.

The monarch lauded the giant strides of the CMD in the hospital and described him as one of the industrious and resourceful sons of the soil in whom he has often expressed pride and undoubted confidence.
