Annex Host Community Donates 4-bedroom Staff Quarters to FETHI

As monarch installs Physician-In-Charge Ba’segun of Igogo land

Igogo-Ekiti as one of the host communities of Federal Teaching Hospital, Ido-Ekiti (FETHI) outreach/annex clinics, had handed over newly built 4 bedroom staff quarters to the hospital on Tuesday in order to facilitate 24hours delivery of improved healthcare services to the community and its environs.

The Onigogo of Igogo-Ekiti, HRM Oba (Barr) Sunday Adewumi, who led the chiefs and other prominent sons and daughters of the soil to the occasion, lauded the responsive spirit they showed toward the actualisation of the project, as he officially conferred on the Physician-In-Charge of the annex, Dr Kayode Ariyibi, a chieftaincy title of Ba’segun of Igogo land.

He appreciated the board and management of the hospital and the entire workforce for supporting the progressive ideas generated by the leadership of the hospital in the recent times.

The Chairman of the building committee and former Permanent Secretary (Hospital Management Board) Ekiti State, Dr Kolawole Aina, appreciated the generous donations from all the indigenes of the community and urged the residents to make use of the clinic facilities.

According to the serving Permanent Secretary (Hospital Management Board) Ekiti State, Dr William Afolabi and the Acting Chairman of Egbe Omo Igogo, Mr Oni Michael, the project has become an example for other communities to emulate as part of their roles in supporting the efforts of the government.

The Secretary to Moba Local Government (Hon. Ariyo), who represented the Chairman, Hon. Adebayo Aborisade, felicitated with the entire local government area and Kwara State for having quality healthcare facilities closer to their doorsteps. He promised the clinic that the LG shall provide night guards for adequate security as requested.

Earlier, the Physician-in-charge applauded the management of the hospital and the host community for their established understanding, saying the joint efforts will assist with the commencement of wider scope of operations and clinical coverage for the community and its neighbouring towns and state.

Meanwhile, the Igogo-Ekiti born Chief Medical Director of the hospital, Prof Adekunle Ajayi, who expressed his gratitude to all the invited guests, apologised on behalf of the community for delivering the project behind the intended period, saying it was due to the COVID-19 pandemic which almost paralyse all activities in the year 2020.

He humbly requested an individual continual support of his management team for the Igogo annex even after the expiration of his tenure in office.

The Chairman, Primary Healthcare Development Agency in Ekiti State, Chief Mrs Monisola Oloro, who dedicated the edifice to the glory of God and benefit of mankind as delegated by Onigogo of Igogo-Ekiti, congratulated the community for having hands in quality healthcare delivery in the state.

Dignitaries present at the commissioning were the CMAC, Dr Idowu Adebara, the DA, Chief B. O. Ogunrinde, the Assistant Directors and invited Head of Departments and Units in the hospital.
