The Journey — how we started and how we got to where we are now
The Federal Teaching Hospital Ido-Ekiti was founded in 1959 by the Ekiti State government. It has continued to provide tertiary care to patients in Ekiti, Ondo, Kwara, Osun and environs. Presently, the hospital comprises of over 300+ medical experts such as doctors, nurses and other medical practitioners.
We look forward to pioneering Africa's medical revolution with a focus on maintaining advanced technological standards in advancing medical care in all of Africa. While we focus primarily on our immediate community, we seek collaboration in training, research and advanced care.

Our mandate is total commitment to exceptional reliable, dependable and qualitative health services, outstanding training and teaching of medical personnel in accordance to international standard coupled with scientific and result oriented research that solves prevailing problem on health issues and other related challenges.
Our Mission
Our mission is to use our highly skilled staff, modern techniques and technologies; to deliver timely, efficient, qualitative, accessible, equitable and affordable health care services tailored to meet the health needs of the teeming population of Ekiti state and its environs; and also to train all cadres of health care professionals as well as support health research works, thereby strengthening the promotive, preventive, curative and rehabilitative health care delivery services in the state.

To reduce morbidity, disability, and mortality due to communicable and non-communicable diseases to the barest minimum in Ekiti state; with a view to meeting global targets on the elimination of these diseases, and to significantly increase the life expectancy, and quality of life of the people of Ekiti state and Nigeria in general.
