A member of the House of Representatives representing the good people of Ekiti North Federal Constituency II (Ido-Osi, Moba and Ilejemeje) Local Government Areas of Ekiti State and Deputy Chairman, House Committee on Agric Production and Services, Hon. (Barr) Olanrewaju Ibrahim, has donated a brand new Advance Life Support Ambulance to the management of Federal Teaching Hospital, Ido-Ekiti (FETHI) on Thursday, 18th February, 2021.
The presentation, which took place at the palace of Oore of Mobaland, His Royal Majesty, Oba Adekunle Adeayo Adeagbo, Ilufemiloye 1, was part of the empowerment programme organised by the lawmaker where other valuable items including 3 mini ambulances and hospital equipment were distributed to his constituents.
Speaking before the presentation, Hon. Ibrahim said the donation was to cater for the health needs of his people in the state and those who may wish to assess quality health care services in the hospital from neighbouring states.
The Chief of Staff to Ekiti State Governor, Hon. Biodun Omoleye, who represented the Governor, Dr Kayode Fayemi at the occasion, presented the Ambulance key to FETHI representatives, Assistant Director/Head of Information and Corporate Affairs Department, Mr Bank-Akinnuoye, Assistant Director/Head of Compliance, Mr Abayomi Alake and Head of Community Relations Unit, Mr Wale Coker.
Appreciating the donor on behalf of the management, Mr Bank-Akinnuoye thanked Hon. Ibrahim for what he described as a legacy, adding that the entire hospital community shall continually pray for him for remembering the institution.
Meanwhile, on arrival at the hospital, the Chief Medical Director, Prof. Adekunle Ajayi led some members of the hospital board of management and Director of Admin, Chief B. O. Ogunrinde to inspect the ambulance. He expressed gratitude to God for the life of the donor, as he saluted his courage and spirit of patriotism which he noted was borne out of passion for service to humanity.
The CMD, who described the ambulance as good as a Mobile Intensive Care Unit, pleaded with the end users to put the vehicle in a good use to encourage other well meaning individuals in the society who may still wish to extend similar hand of fellowship to the hospital in the nearest future.
