The planning committee on Human Immune-deficiency Virus (HIV)/Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome(AIDS) of Federal Teaching Hospital, Ido-Ekiti (FETHI) along with other participating personnel from Obstetrics and Gynecology(O&G), Pediatric, and Laboratory departments, National Health Insurance Scheme( NHIS) and Care and Support units marked “2018 World AIDS Day tagged;Know Your Status”.
On arrival, the entire team with great joy, danced round the town announcing the medi-care service that would be rendered at Igogo-Ekiti town hall. This includes: health education, free HIV screening, blood sugar screening, free medical checkup for children, free pressure checking and medical consultations.
Dr. Adewara from O&G department, who represented the Chief Medical Director, Dr Adekunle Ajayi, in his speech, admonished the members of the community to make themselves available for free health care service delivery and also consider regular medical checkup as a necessity to stay alive while alive.
Elder Aina, on behalf of His Royal Majesty, Oba Sunday Adewunmi, Okinbaloye II, warmly received FETHI team and appreciated Dr. Adekunle Ajayi and the management committee for reaching out to the good people of the community and enabling individuals to know their health status at no cost. He prayed for a successful outreach and wished the medical team greater achievements and journey mercies back to the hospital.
