A 4-man accreditation team from the West African College of Surgeons(WACS) led by Dr I.K. Kolawole, Chairman, Faculty of Anaesthesia, Dr. Adenekan, Dr. Olajumoke and Dr. Eyelade, paid an accreditation visit to the Anaesthesia Department of Federal Teaching Hospital, Ido-Ekiti (FETHI) between Tuesday, 25th to Thursday, 27th May, 2021.
The team was received by the Chairman, Medical Advisory Commitee, Dr Idowu Adebara, Director of Administration, High Chief B.O Ogunrinde, Dr. Orewole Teslim Head of Department, Anaesthesia, FETHI Dr. Odesanya, Anaesthesia Department, Dr. Olajide T.G, Consultant, ENT Department and Mr Banks Akinnuoye, Head of Department, Information and Corporate Affairs.
Dr Kolawole I.K, on behalf of his team, commended the Management for her hospitality.
He stated that their purpose of visit was to carry out evaluation of the hospital’s progress and give advice to the institution where improvement is required.
The Chief Medical Director, Professor Adekunle Ajayi, welcomed the team to FETHI.
A brief rundown on the history of FETHI and its tremendous improvements both in infrastructure and personnel were highlighted.
“Anaesthesia Department is very key to the hospital, it is impossible to run a tertiary health institution without them”, he added.
The accreditation exercise is a regular feedback mechanism to further improve the system.
On that note, the CMD assured them of maximum cooperation by the management and staff in the course of their exercise.
High Chief B.O. Ogunrinde on behalf of management, thanked the accreditation team for coming and prayed that the exercise would yield positive outcomes.
