FETHI Commemorates 2021 World Hepatitis Day

The Educational Commitee of Federal Teaching Hospital, Ido-Ekiti (FETHI), has organised the 2021 Edition of the World Hepatitis Day in alliance with the World Health Organization (WHO), themed “Hepatitis Can’t Wait”, which held at the Old School of Nursing Hall on Wednesday, 4th August.

The Resource Personnels; Dr. Idowu Adebara, Dr.Yusuf and Dr. Durowade; took the participants through insightful power-point presentations with statistical analysis to highlight the need for awareness about the fact that Hepatitis is preventable and treatable” with the goal of eradicating the viral disease as a global threat by the year 2030.

In his remark, the Chief Medical Director, Professor Adekunle Ajayi, commended the Educational Commitee Chairman, Dr Awoyinka and his team for a job well done in organizing the programme.

Furthermore, the CMD spoke on the need for shared confidentiality of patients health information with careful consideration of ethical implications without breach of the patient’s confidence in the Hospital.

Dr Awoyinka, Chairman, Education Committe, Federal Teaching Hospital,
in his closing remarks, thanked the Management of FETHI for their unalloyed support.

He thereafter, acknowledged the respresentatives from the Diagnostic Centres present and the Educational Commitee team for their cooperation and show of commitment to making the programme a huge sucess.

Finally, members of staff were encouraged to get their HBV vaccine to avoid the risk of Hepatitis A or B.
