Health Information Management Dept.(FETHI) Organises Training for Members

In line with In-Service Training for effective service delivery in the health sector, the Department of Health Information Management, Federal Teaching Hospital, Ido-Ekiti (FETHI) has organised a one-day training programme to foster appropriate Information, Education and Orientation; amongst the multidisciplinary team.

The training themed, “Self Improvement & Productivity in the Work Environment” was held on Tuesday, 13th March, 2022 at the Old School of Nursing Conference Hall.

Mrs.Abimbola Afolabi, (Head of Department, Health Information Management), in her opening remarks, welcomed the participants to the training.

She stated that the training was organized to boost self improvement and improved work outcomes while maintaining patient confidentiality, secure electronic data and transmission system in relation to the processes of patient’s care.

Resource person, Mrs. Adegbehingbe A. in her presentation, described “Personal Development” as the continuous act of assessing one’s live values, goals while building qualities such as consistency, determination and willingness to make one’s self better.

In her lecture, she took the participants through areas of personal growth & Development; (Mental, Social, Spiritual Emotional and Physical Developments)as it affects the workplace overall performance.

Guest speaker, Dr. Jacob K.Opele, a senior lecturer from the Department of Library & Information Science, FUOYE further enlightened the participants on the promotion of appropriate, evidence based and concise medical record; thereafter highlighting their importance and measures to evaluate professional practice, outcomes of patient’s care.

Dr. Arogundade M. while giving his goodwill message, commended the Department even as he acknowledged their great level of distinction.

In conclusion, while giving her closing remark, Mrs Afolabi urged Members of the (HIM) Department to develop themselves as they take into cognisance the parameters of detailing while documenting patient’s information delightfully.

Giving the vote of thanks on behalf of the Department, Mrs. Anjorin appreciated the leadership of the department for organising the training for them.

She affirmed that they have gained new knowledge that will influence their work performance output positively.
