The Management of Federal Teaching Hospital, Ido-Ekiti (FETHI), played host to Members of the Radiographers Registration & Board of Nigeria(RRBN), on Tuesday 15th, November, 2022 for the re-accreditation of the Radiography Unit of the Radiology Department (FETHI).
The 4-man team led by Mr Ebere Onwuegbuchi expressed appreciation on behalf of his team to the Management for the hospitality accorded them.
Earlier on, Mr Ebere O., stated that their purpose of visit was geared towards the monitoring and inspection of Radiology equipments, in adherence to set standards of operation; verification of qualifications & practice licenses; assessment of quality in terms of modalities in the training of interns; working conditions and existing professional relationship within the Department in ensuring high standards of patients care.
Responding, the Chief Medical Director, Prof. Adekunle Ajayi on behalf of the Board of Management, welcomed the RRBN accreditation team to FETHI, the Zenith of Ido-Ekiti.
Further in, the CMD extolled the Department of Radiology for their use of modern digitalized technology as he expressed pride that the Hospital has recorded steady growth and progress since inception with historical relics as landmarks.
He however, recommended the review of the Modus Operandi of the RRBN to address challenges relating to improvement of the internship training programme and collaborative efforts with tertiary institutions in the areas of personnel/capacity in carrying out maintenance of Radiology equipments.
While bidding the team a fulfilling facility tour, the CMD expressed belief that they will become FETHI ambassadors afterwards, as he urged them to enjoy the beautiful scenery of the Hospital.
The facility tour was led by the Head of Radiology Department, Dr. Olabirin Eunice and Mr Oguntuase, the Head of Radiography Unit.
Core activities which took place during the tour were;
Assessment of medical imaging machines and other essential facilities, interview and familiarization meeting with members of the Department.
At the debriefing after the tour, Mr Ebere, noted with pleasure the state of the art digital imaging equipments they witnessed and the level of cordiality in their interpersonal relations.
He however highlighted areas in dire need of the Management’s attention.
Giving the vote of thanks, Dr Olabirin thanked the Accreditation team for visiting the Department.
She further, appreciated the Management team and all who were involved in the accreditation exercise.
Also present to receive the visitors with the CMD were; Dr Olagoke Erinomo(Chairman, Medical Advisory Committee); High Chief (Dr) B.O Ogunrinde (Director of Administration); Mrs Yemi Olayisade (Head, Finance & Accounts Dept.); Mrs Olajide Grace (Head of Nursing Services); Mr Bank-Akinnuoye (Head, Information and Cooperate Affairs Department).
