The Chief Medical Director of the Federal Teaching Hospital, Ido-Ekiti (FETHI), Prof. Adekunle Ajayi has advised members of staff to at least set aside their birthday anniversaries for general medical checkup, adding that the testimony by some people who claimed not to have been to the hospital since birth is not a good one and should not be encouraged.
Prof Ajayi, who gave the charges on Tuesday while addressing the staff in an open forum after the New Year break and the monthly prayer meeting titled “A Critical Decision -Joshua 24:15”, expressed concern on how undisclosed ailments trapped people to untimely death.
He craved the indulgence of the staff to observe a minute silence for those who had passed on in the year 2021, as he prayed God to grant them eternal rest.
Earlier, the CMD joined the Christian Community in the hospital’s Chapel to sing praises to the Most High; as he also enjoined the congregation to offer words of prayer for Prophet Sam Olu Alo who helped in tiling the place of worship.
Addressing the esteemed members of staff, the Varsity pedagogue and angiology expert applauded the degree of love, support and prayers enjoyed from the staff during his first term in office which he declared ended on the 31st December, 2021.
He expressed gratitude to God for the successful completion of his first term and with refulgence acknowledged the support of the Board of Management, his management committee members and the entire staff who he described as mighty pillars of support for his promotion and successes.
Meanwhile, as a path to a new beginning, Prof Ajayi went on his kneels to receive blessings from the staff and some spirited individuals who committed his ways unto the Lord’s hand as he began another term of four years on 1st January, 2022.
He, however, beseeched those he said were found of fabricating rumours to desist from spreading rumours which he claimed are capable of truncating the peace and progress witnessed in the hospital; stressing that anyone caught in the act shall not be spared but face the wrath of the law accordingly.
Prof Ajayi wished everyone a prosperous New Year with bountiful harvest in form of blessings according to the quantity of their seeds.
