The Ekiti State Honourable Commissioner for Health, Dr Oyebanji Filani, has described the Chief Medical Director of Federal Teaching Hospital, Ido-Ekiti (FETHI), Prof. Adekunle Ajayi as a goal getter who has the mindset to help move the health system in the state.
Dr Filani, who visited the hospital for the first time on Monday, lauded the performances of the CMD based on the projects executed within 3-year and affirmed that his impression about him had still not changed, adding that it is a pleasure having him as CMD within Ekiti State space.
Earlier in his remarks, Prof Ajayi extended open arms welcome to the visitors and urged them to take a walk round the facility before departing the hospital.
The Commissioner stated that the visit was to see the facility, get a good understanding of what the hospital has, know the mutual areas of collaboration and how the three (3) tertiary health institutions in the state -FETHI, EKSUTH and ABUAD can work together to ensure Ekiti people get quality health care.
He informed the hospital that the State Government had recently took delivery of a good number of COVID-19 testing kits and vaccine to combat the increasing cases of the virus, stressing that it is important to encourage those who had not being vaccinated to get theirs, as the exercise will commence again this week.
Dr Filani and his entourage which had the Permanent Secretary, Ekiti State Ministry of Health, Dr Jide Akinleye (MNI), the Perm Sec, Hospital Management Board, Dr Williams Afolabi, the Director of Hospital Services, Ministry of Health, Dr Adetoye and the Acting State Epidemiologist, Dr Bosede Atowooye, were taken round the hospital facilities by Prof. Ajayi.
Also received the visitors with the CMD, were the Chairman, Medical Advisory Committee, Dr Idowu Adebara, the Director of Administration, Chief B. O. Ogunrinde, the Head of Finance & Accounts, Mrs Yemi Olayisade, the Head of Information & Corporate Affairs, Mr Bank-Akinnuoye, the Head of Human Resources, Mrs Foluso Adelegan, the Physician in charge of Igogo Annex and the Chairman, Nigerian Medical Association, Ekiti State Chapter, Dr Ariyibi and other management members.
