FETHI COMPLETES INSTALLATION OF 3500KG INCINERATORS CAPABLE OF BURNING SOLID WASTES FOR THE HOSPITAL AND OTHER HEALTH FACILITIES IN EKITI STATE

FETHI completes installation of 3500kg incinerators capable of burning waste for the hospital and for Ekiti State as a whole
Now, another giant stride has been recorded in our infrastructural development here in Federal Teaching Hospital, Ido-Ekiti (FETHI) to the glory of God and benefit of mankind. This is actually nothing but a reflection of doing the right thing at the right time with the support of a set of right-thinking and experienced management committee members who hold their beliefs in the policies, sense of administrative judgment of a leader and probably attend the same school of thought with such a resourceful manager who manages both human and available limited resources judiciously.
Findings have indicated that the 3500kg incinerators newly installed are capable of combusting both medical and household wastes in Ekiti State as a whole.
The incinerators, which are containers or furnaces typically designed to burn trash along with any other types of waste until it is reduced to nothing but ashes, will henceforth undoubtedly dispose the hospital waste effectively and eliminate its danger to the environment as well as the cost and stress of having it transported to a landfill.
According to the officer in charge of the hospital’s waste management, Mr Babatunde Adeniran (Principal Environmental Health Superintendent), these two incinerators (3000kg and 500kg) can run for 24hour throughout a week (24/7).
He also affirmed that the incinerators are eco-friendly, that is, its air pollution is controllable. He added that the ashes cannot cause hazard to the environment.
In all indications, FETHI is now operating in compliance with International Emission Regulations to protect human health by installing incinerators that effectively reduce the quantity of waste as well as providing a safe alternative for the disposal of hazardous waste generated within the hospital community.
Dear compatriots, truly the largest room in the whole world, according to our CMD, is the room for improvement and little did I wonder why all these are springing up at this God’s appointed time.
Obviously it is not yet over. In fact, this is just the beginning; the rebranding process continues. With the spate of present transformation going on, FETHI stands a chance of leading others in quality healthcare services delivery. Let’s keep the tempo high.
