EKITI INDIGENES IN TEXAS DONATE ITEMS TO FETHI

The Chief Medical Director, Federal Teaching Hospital, Ido-Ekiti (FETHI), Dr Adekunle Ajayi, has given an open arm’s welcome to the Representatives of Ekiti Sons and Daughters in Texas, United States of America, who have come to donate tens of bedsheet with pillow case for the ward use of the tertiary hospital.
Representatives of the group, Chief Gabriel Ojo, Mrs Caroline Ojo and Mr Francis Ojo, who made the donation on behalf of the group in the presence of some Top Management Committee members of the hospital in the CMD’s office on Wednesday, said the group was known for series of such benevolence in Ekiti State.
In his remarks, Chief Ojo said he was delighted to present the gift items as contribution to humanity. He cited the presentation of awards to Ekiti Best Students in NECO Exams as part of their gestures and assured the hospital of regular contributions.
Appreciating what the CMD described as sense of magnanimity displayed by the group, Dr Ajayi thanked the donors for looking in the direction of the hospital.
“On behalf of this hospital, I want to sincerely appreciate your group for this donation. You have extended a hand of fellowship to us and it is laudable. We urge you for more assistance and implore you as well to create the awareness among other groups outside the country,” he beseeched.
Giving the brief history of the hospital to the group, the CMD said it was established 20 years ago and fully funded by the Federal Government of Nigeria to cater for the health needs of the state and its environs at a subsidised rate.
He said due to the complex responsibility of the FG, the hospital needs all assistance from every quarter, be it groups or individual patriotic Nigerian to put the institution in the forefront of quality healthcare service providers.
