The Pharmacist Council of Nigeria (PCN) on Wednesday, 25th May 2022, paid an accreditation visit to the Pharmacy Department of Federal Teaching Hospital, Ido-Ekiti (FETHI).

The 7-member team, led by Professor Raymond Ozohua, during the framework of the one-day visit, stated that the exercise entailed inspection and evaluation for regulating and controlling Pharmacy Education, Practice & Training processes, as well as the day to day structure of operation.

The Chief Medical Director (FETHI), Prof. Adekunle Ajayi, while giving his welcome address, acknowledged the presence of the team, as he appreciated the members of the Council for visiting and wished them a positive yielding tour exercise.

Thereron, at the debriefing, after the accreditation exercise, Prof. Raymond, commended the Prof. Adekunle Ajayi for the glaring development in the areas of administration and infrastructure since his inception into office, adding that it was ‘worthy of reckoning’, even as he described the CMD as Pharma-Phylic.

However, recommendations to realign pharmaco-vigilance in the Pharmacy Department and Hospital with peculiarity to the institution, were highlighted.

The CMD in his closing remarks, expressed elation that the team touched every aspect regarding Pharmacy, as he assured them of the Institution’s improved focus and renewed vigour towards the Pharmacy Department, to ensure smooth operation of pharmacy practice for the system to continue to excel.
