Quaterly: FETHI Health Information Management Department Reviews Work Communication Values, Launches Official Uniform

The Health Information Management Department of the Federal Teaching Hospital, Ido-Ekiti (FETHI), under the leadership of Mrs Afolabi A.E, had organised her quaterly Departmental training for members of staff of the Hospital, with a structure geared to maximize performance towards sustainable capability, teamwork via proper communication, positive attitude and a friendly work enviroment, as key drivers to achieving the institution’s goals and objectives.

The 1-day training and sensitization programme which took place on Tuesday, 21st June, 2022, had in attendance, members of staff across the different Departments & Units of the Institution.

Declaring the training session opened, the Chief Medical Director of the hospital, Prof. Adekunle Ajayi expressed delight and pride, identifying with the Health Information Management Department, for yet another trail blazing activity that they are involved in; domesticating training within the Hospital while arranging our priorities in the areas where strength lies.

On that note, the Chief Medical Director, congratulated the leadership of the Department and her team for coming up with the programme, as he expessed hope that the programme will yield positive outcomes.

Thereafter, was the official launch of the Departmental Uniform, declared by the CMD, to be worn by Members of the Department every Monday.

He however, urged them not only to see the uniform as an ’embodiment of beauty, but an emblem of dignity reminding them of who they are’.

The theme for the training, ” Inter/Intra Departmental Relationship Among Health Workers in Patient’s Care and Management ” was presented by Mrs Ogunsuyi A.A.

Giving her presentation, Mrs Ogunsuyi A., described interdepartmental relationships as that which entails active listening and exchange of ideas in order to inject new ideas to curb wastage and implement government policy designed to deliver performance in the workforce system.

Other event details entailed; an interactive session
with representatives from other Departments as participants, to further acquire the required knowledge to improve existing skills, for effective public relationship that will enhance work attitude and value.

Members of the Management Committee also present at the training to register their goodwill were; the Head of Nursing Services, Mrs Olajide, Assistant Director, Information/Corporate Affairs Department, Mr Bank-Akinnuoye, Head of Revenue Unit, Mrs Aladetuyi, among prominent others.
