Federal Medical Centre, Ido Ekiti was in the news for a reason that is no less noble on Tuesday 29th May, 2014 when it played host to the monthly meeting of the Forum of Heads of Federal Establishments in Ekiti State. The forum in Ekiti State like several States in the country meets every month to discuss issues of mutual concern and interest with a view to evolving or taking mutually beneficial decisions and to foster cooperation among and between members.
The Chairman of the Ekiti State chapter of the forum Mr. Walter Onah in his opening remark at the meeting commended the Medical Director Dr L M Ayodele for the un-parallel hospitality extended to members that graced the day and the conducive environment his leadership provided for the forums deliberation in the month of May, 2014.
The highpoint of the days historical deliberation which had security, education and welfare of staffs and wards of Federal establishments in its agenda for the day was a twenty minutes presentation from the Head of National Health Insurance Department, Mrs.Foluke Ayodele which dwelt largely on the workings, benefits, typologies of health insurance and rights of being an enrollee of the timely National Health Insurance Scheme.
The host and Medical Director of the Centre, Dr L. M Ayodele in his short remark at the meeting welcomed the forum members in attendance to its deliberation for the month of May, 2014. He said the Centre from its inception has continually played a crucial role in the health of the teeming Ekiti population and its adjoining states. He further charged forum members to avail themselves and their family of the Centre’s array of medical services by enrolling in the rapidly growing National health Insurance Scheme. He closed his remark with a pledge to open his door of cooperation and support to forum members and its noble aspirations.
