OUTREACH MEDICAL TEAM, FETHI VISITS OMU-EKITI.

Residents of Omu-Ekiti in Oye Local Government Area of Ekiti State, on Monday, 15th March, 2021 received quality health care services during an outreach visit by the medical team from the Community Health and Pharmacy Departments of Federal Teaching Hospital, ldo-Ekiti (FETHI).

Mrs Adeniyi, a Public Health nurse from the Department of Community Medicine sensitized the people on the benefits of diet-related health needs and wellness efforts. She stressed the importance of including regular fruit intake in one’s daily meal plan, stating that fruits are rich in vitamins and highly needed by the body.

Futhermore, she educated the people on the leading causes to chronic health conditions such as High Blood Pressure (HBP), stating that early detection is key, which can be achieved through routine medical check-ups as well as strict compliance to drug regiments and practical healthy lifestyles are ways in living a healthy life.

Activities carried out on the outreach programme were; Counselling, Vital signs check, Consultations, Counselling and Drugs dispensing.

In attendance were 15 patients, with a referral to Opthalmology Department, FETHI. A Community Health Physician, Dr. Asake with other medical team were on ground for the exercise.

Covid-19 protocols were duly observed during the program.
